What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most typical cooling problems in Ravenna.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system working but there isn’t cool air coming out, you may need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so another problem to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is restricted. If you can verify these matters, you may be able to discover the problem; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling troubles. Another problem that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a frequent issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be good to go. Note that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.
